Jim is the founder and CEO of Easy Legal Planning, a document preparation service helping individuals and families across all 50 states complete their estate and business planning quickly, affordably, and without the cost of a traditional law firm. With over 25 years of experience in the field, including his early career at an estate planning law firm starting in 2001, Jim founded Easy Legal Planning in 2005 and has grown it into a trusted national resource for revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, LLCs, and the full range of foundational planning documents families and small business owners need.

Jim built Easy Legal Planning around a simple idea: thoughtful, state-specific, attorney-drafted planning documents should be accessible, affordable, and straightforward to obtain. The company operates on a flat-fee, fully remote model, using a guided online questionnaire so clients can complete their planning from home on their own schedule. Jim and his team have drafted tens of thousands of documents over the years.

Jim is also known for his ability to make estate and business planning approachable. He has a knack for explaining complex concepts in a simple, relatable way, and he has a gift for making even the toughest planning topics feel approachable, and maybe even a little fun. He produces video content that walks people through the concepts behind their documents so they understand not just what they are signing, but why each piece matters, and he partners with financial advisors and investment firms to bring coordinated planning to their clients.
